Germantown, Tennessee--November 22nd, 2021--Over the course of multiple transitioning environments between virtual and in-person learning, we sometimes forget to enjoy our past-time hobbies and activities that truly make us happy. This year, the GMC PTO and student communications intern Priyanka Phaniraj will be hosting their two contests (art and writing) revolving around one theme: “My Happy Place.”

Congratulations to our Riverdale Cross Country team! The teams placed top 20 for the Western division at the West TN Championships on Saturday. Four Raiders have qualified for the State meet in Knoxville on October 23:
Nora Newhouse (MS girls 4th place finish)
Tyler Schmitt (MS boys 41st of 202 runners)
Chloe McKinley (ES girls 46th of 218 runners)
Zeke Newhouse (ES boys 12th out of 218 runners)

October 2, 2021 - What a year! Congratulations to Riverdale's Volleyball Teams! Thank you to all of the parents, but especially to the coaches for their time and work leading our girls throughout the year! Coach Tim Coulter shared how very proud he was of these two teams!
"Our JV team came in first in the district tournament this week! They walked away with an impressive record of 17-0!
Our Varsity Team ended up 2nd in league play and 3rd in the district tournament! Very proud of all of our girls-it was a fantastic volleyball season! Thank you to all of our families that helped make this year special!"

Germantown, Tennessee--September 15, 2021--The skills taught in Houston's health science class were tested and applied when an elderly neighbor of a Houston High School student began choking on her dinner. Junior Lindsey Manguso jumped into action, performing the Heimlich maneuver, consequently saving her neighbor’s life.

Congratulations to Riverdale Raider Zachary Wiggs who qualified for the finals in the 100m run today at the Ed Murphey Classic. Zachary will run live on ESPN tomorrow between 1 and 3. Tune in to watch him! In addition to qualifying, he also posted personal bests in the high jump and long jump today. Way to go Zachary!

Germantown, Tennessee--September 14, 2021--Riverdale students have enjoyed getting a first hand look at the concept of farm to table through the school's Outdoor Exploratory Lab. The lab features 5 raised beds with various fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers for viewing

Today, Riverdale officially declared August 30, 2021, as John Frizzell Day! Mr. John Frizzell is one of nine finalists for Tennessee's Teacher of the Year Award, and we could not be prouder! Mrs. Pam White organized a surprise celebration for him this morning. The faculty and staff honored Mr. Frizzell by dressing like him. Many were able to help us recognize and celebrate Riverdale's amazing teacher, including district office staff, parents, family, and students. Riverdale knows how lucky we are to have Mr. Frizzell and are glad that his greatness has been recognized by the State of TN too. Mr. Frizzell, good luck tomorrow! Riverdale loves you!
