GMSD Advocates for Special Education Funding During Visit from State Officials

September 2024--GMSD leaders, alongside Lakeland representatives, hosted state officials, including Rep. Mark White and John DeBerry, for a tour of the district’s special education preschool program. During the visit, Superintendent Jason Manuel and School Board Member Brian Curry raised concerns about the lack of state funding for preschool students with disabilities under the new funding formula. GMSD is actively advocating for equitable support for these vulnerable students with representatives from the governor’s office.

September 2024 - Sixth grade students conducted experiments to examine the effects of ramp height and object mass on energy. They used different inclines and objects to investigate these variables.
