Camp Read and Add S'more: A Night of Math, Reading, and Fun at Riverdale

Riverdale hosted its annual Camp Read and Add S'more event this past Friday. The event is a delightful fusion of math, reading, and community spirit. This cherished tradition encourages students to explore the world of learning in a fun and interactive way. With engaging activities and the support of our amazing teachers and PTO, it's an event students, teachers, and parents eagerly anticipate.

October 2023 - Riverdale Raiders in Mr. Schmitt’s Multimedia and Design class got to show off their creative skills in how they would execute a 3d printing project that incorporated a pencil. Students presented their designs to a panel of judges, and the top three designs were selected.

October 2023 - The Riverdale Raiders had much to celebrate this fall with their varsity volleyball team’s success, including multiple tournament wins and a Regional championship that will not soon be forgotten.

Riverdale Helps Raise $2,414 Towards Diabetes Research

On Saturday, October 21st, Riverdale showed up and showed out as we walked all over diabetes at the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) One Walk at the Memphis Zoo. With the help of Riverdale Cheerleaders, our Raider Mascot, members of Junior Honors Academy and Student Government Council along with several faculty and staff, we raised $2414 towards diabetes research!! Way to go, Riverdale!

Riverdale Heroes: Two 3rd Grade Students Save a Classmates’ Life

October 2023 - Just before fall break Beckham Clark and Weston Sloan were recognized for saving their classmates’ life after he started choking during lunch time.

City of Germantown to honor Blanche Barron as Teacher of the Month

September 2023- Blanche Barron of Riverdale has been named the first Teacher of the Month by the Germantown Education Commission, with a celebration scheduled for October 23rd.

7th & 8th Grade REAL Raider Teams

This year, Riverdale Middle School has implemented a team program to help students build relationships with classmates in a fun way and work on their REAL Raider characteristics: Responsible, Engaged, Accountable, and Leader. The 7th and 8th graders were split into different color teams and each team has two teacher leads. Check out the full story to see what the teams got up to for their September meeting!
