Riverdale’s innovative Art Program is preparing to showcase “The Art of Rescue,” an exciting schoolwide project set to be unveiled on October 22. The event will highlight collaborative artwork from each grade level, with a special focus on the 3rd-grade students’ Iris Scott-inspired “Dogs in Motion” pieces. These vibrant, finger-painted portraits depict dogs in dynamic poses, capturing the energy and motion of rescue animals.
Riverdale is partnering with the Tunica Humane Society for this unique exhibit, emphasizing the connection between art and compassion. The artwork, all created by the students, will be displayed alongside narratives that blend art with literacy, telling stories of rescue animals and the importance of adoption. “The Art of Rescue” aims to celebrate creativity while raising awareness for animal rescue efforts.
Families and community members are invited to attend the unveiling at Riverdale on October 22. This event is a prime example of how GMSD continues to inspire creativity and community involvement. Save the date and witness firsthand the power of student creativity and the impact it can make.
