Mrs. Wiley's 6th Grade Science Competition

Mrs. Wiley's 6th grade scientists were given a mission to demonstrate their knowledge of conductors and insulators by creating a stylus that would work on a touchscreen device. They were given many options for materials and could bring their own from home too. They practiced being engineers when they designed a 2D model, had to stay within a budget, created the actual stylus, tested it, and made improvements. Mr. Kartaltepe, from our technology department, offered a bag of jolly ranchers for the top stylus. A team of teachers evaluated over 130 styluses and chose the top four based on design and functionality. The image below represents our top designs! Way to go 6th graders!
