Germantown, TN–May 19,2023 — Riverdale School is delighted to announce the appointment of Mrs. Antoinette Curtis as the new Assistant Principal.
One of Mrs. Curtis' key strengths is her passion for serving others and building strong relationships with all stakeholders. She firmly believes in the power of collaboration and recognizes the importance of engaging with students, parents, teachers, and the wider community to create a thriving learning environment.
Riverdale School holds a special place in Mrs. Curtis' heart due to its unique family atmosphere. “As a school serving children from preschool through 8th grade, it offers a comprehensive and nurturing educational experience,” Mrs. Curtis shared with us. She is particularly excited about the opportunity to contribute to the development of Riverdale's students across all grade levels.
Mrs. Curtis began her educational journey at the University of Memphis, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. She furthered her studies at Union University in Tennessee, obtaining a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction. Mrs. Curtis continued her educational pursuits at Union University, earning an Education Specialist degree in Instructional Leadership.
Mrs. Curtis' leadership experience encompasses various roles. She served as a member of the Mastery Learning Team in Collierville Schools, where she collaborated with district facilitators, supported students in achieving success, and effectively communicated with parents and students.
In addition, Mrs. Curtis worked as a Data Network Facilitator, where she maintained knowledge of accountability standards and played a pivotal role in supporting student success through data analysis. Her expertise as an Instructional Coach at Bailey Station Elementary showcased her ability to enhance teaching and learning by providing tailored professional development and actionable feedback.
Currently serving as a PLC/Data Coach at Schilling Farms Elementary, Mrs. Curtis dissects and interprets assessment data, assists teachers with data analysis, curriculum alignment, and instructional strategies. Her effective communication with administrators, principals, teachers, and parents contributes to a collaborative and supportive educational community. In her personal life, Mrs. Curtis enjoys a creative hobby of making jewelry.
