GMSD Community Invited: Revved Up and Handmade Event to Support Raider TV

Riverdale Elementary invites the entire Germantown community to its first-ever Revved Up and Handmade Car Show & Craft Market on Saturday, April 26, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This unique, family-friendly event brings together a car show, local craft vendors, food trucks, and even a pet adoption booth—all in support of a great cause. Proceeds from the event will help RaiderTV, Riverdale’s student-run broadcast studio, build a custom news set to enhance student productions.

“This event is truly special because it's a collaboration between Riverdale's art department and RaiderTV," explained Instructional Technology Coach and RaiderTV leader Terry Schmitt. “We’re excited to showcase local talent with over 40 craft vendors already signed up. Attendees can expect jewelry, ceramics, honey, soaps, embroidery, custom candles, laser engraved goods, and much more."

In addition to talented local artists, teachers and students from Riverdale will be selling handmade creations. “Our students have worked really hard and are excited to be part of this market," Schmitt added. "We have something for everyone, from crocheting to custom hat bars—it's a wonderful showcase of local craftsmanship."

Automobile enthusiasts can also enjoy the Revved Up Car Show from 10 a.m. to noon, featuring more than 30 vehicles of all makes and models—from sleek electric cars to vintage hot rods. A highlight will be a demonstration by a local high school student who modified his own car to shoot flames from the exhaust. "It's currently a rust bucket of a car, but our student has put incredible work into it," Schmitt added, noting it promises to be a highlight of the day.

Visitors can also stop by the Tunica Humane Society adoption event and enjoy delicious eats from popular local food trucks like Wings on the Fly, Sno Me Something, El Mero, and Say Cheese. (Not committed yet)
